Last I walked the streets of Rome for a final time with someone who's love for the city might exceed mine. We met at the top of the Capitolitum steps and spent about seven wonderful hours watching weddings, touring churches, gardens, wandering the streets and getting caught in a Trastevere festival.
We didn't hit all seven hills but I think she would have tried if it hadn't been for having a drink here or there and actually stopping for nice meal. Then we continued on into Monti and finally back to her chariot. The final days in Rome are never favorites, I detest goodbyes and all the emotions I am not supposed to have or show. This one felt more like a script from an old movie. We were props and the city the star. A Cecille B DeMille extravaganza! Enchanting and enchanted!
The offer stands!
