Yogi said...

That famous philosopher Yogi Berra once said. "it was like deja vu all over again."

Last night my daughter Kim and I celebrated her birthday at a nice little bistro near the beach. It was raining so hard that atmosphere was non 'port. Food and service, per usual, excellent.

Conversation kind of centered on kids. Hers and hers...my grandchildren and her class. She is a fourth grade teacher so education was a topic. Seems like I recently had this same conversation. Almost identical despite the big ocean in between the two locations. Even more bizarre is/was the fact that I agree with both of them, on both sides of the world. Miss-management or mismanagement is the first obstacle to be overcome and because this is"government" we are discussing, a solution is not the most likely possibility.

Kim was chatting about all of the kids enjoying "board games"...once you taught them how to play. Seems that parents don't and schools as a rule do not use them as an aid. Despite the fact that  kids learn problem solving skills in a manner they like...play!

Government foresight, involvement and acumen was deplored equally in Rome and Madeira Beach!

Perhaps the world of poker tournement will pick up on this and become a benevolent donor!

Just sayin"!!!
