Old crank?

Or is it righteous indignation?

At age 13 work wasn't part of my "dream", but it was part of my life. An aspect that I now cherish. Happily I am still able to get up and go about a normal daily routine. Many of my friends are not so lucky. One suffers from severe trauma, he chooses to live in the northern provinces...Canada.

Work has allowed me to attain a decent life-style. To visit places beautiful, far and unexpected. Work makes me feel like a viable human being. It gives me self-pride. Being an active participant in life and a society that requires your involvement makes me happy.

Watching a group of unattended, unaware, smug students waste themselves, their youth, possibly their futures and besmirch the name of our country for the last three months does NOT! Tourism is down, so this is what citizens in other places get to see. This is what we are judged on...how we bring up and care for our young. Guess what? That's a universal value. Not all of the students are like that. That kind of statement is absurd. But...but a sufficient number are!

Teen-age angst is a new tribulation we adults have placed in front of our young. Kow-towing to it is! We are parents and in my case a grandparent, not their friends. Duty and responsibility are also conjugal!
