Stuck in my craw

I do not recollect all the voices of approval and praise over the years. But, some one in earlier times called me judgemental...that, I remember.

"Judgemental" seems to carry convey a negative feeling, it was not supposed to be a compliment. I perceive it as an incrementally negative word. No judgement is negative, no problem understanding that. Perhaps it's something in the eyes of the beholder. 

How do you think of these words, discerning or showing discretion? Each of these words is at least incrementally negative...a little bit! 

Showing good judgement is a how each and every one of would prefer to be thought of. We choose, opt, pick our way through life. Our friends, our lovers, our enemies...we judge! If not, just what do you base a relationship on? 

Maybe it's how fast we judge, although that isn't in the definition. Or what we judge. Or how much? The only one that can provide the answer is the one that just called you a name! Does this mean I'm judgemental...or only discerning?

Wish I could remember the name...and the outcome.
