White noise...is noise, just prettied up!
I am not a good joiner. Groucho was right, if they would have me, I don't belong!
The "Cloud", the new memory. My head is in the cloud-with my memory! "Get off'a my cloud", I can't afford the extra memory!
What do you do when you know the definition, but the word has escaped?
If your goal is achievement, remember that it is a moving target!
Write or wrong? Every time I write I think that I accomplish both...multi-tasking!
"Never" is a long time, even if never doesn't exist.
"A simple majority..." only if they are "simple!"
When the first words you hear are "I Know", doubt doesn't just creep in...it gallops!
Describe a disbeliever. Don't have to, Rodin did it already. The name of the statue is "The Thinker!"
Why would the GOP be swaying on immigration? To avoid all the undocumented worker scandals.
If it's ok to "stand my ground" with a gun, why can't I use my car?
This is my on line "Collector's Cabinet". It is non-profit and haphazard at best. I leave it to you to sort through and make sense of.The views are mine. The collection reflects some of my interests. But the material must be credited to the vast internet. Otherwise, I never would have been able to amass such a treasure trove. The purpose of this exercise is entertainment, naturally mine, but even more so yours. So, please let me know if anything strikes a chord with you.

Wishin' 'n Hopin'
As memories the weeks leading up to Christmas are now only blurs. But, when I was young time seemed slow as we approached the day, until it almost seemed to be flowing in reverse. Expectation, hope and fulfillment seemed so distant.
But first you have the preparations. Since we did not always have a car the tree was often chosen from the closest lot. With the biggest child (me), helping to tote it home. I was pretty happy that we didn't "need" a huge tree.
The size of our family meant that there were always lots of presents under the tree. Of course, many of those presents were terribly disappointing to us. We didn't think that we needed any more clothes. Or shoes. Or coats. Etc. We learned economics early.
Aunt Myrtle was usually good for at least one trip to downtown Boston. Jammed subways, crowded stores and we had to hold hands! Ugh! She did enjoy her role as Aunt and felt that we had to see the current window display at Jordan Marsh. Every year a new combination of Dickensque carolers that actually moved! This was followed by a visit to SS Pierce and maybe an ice cream sundae. Ice cream the high for us...the carolers for her.
Another weekend would have me acting as bearer-boy for "Santa" as we traveled store to store accumulating all the needed gifts. One year I became Santa's helper in truth. Too many kids, too little cash and I had a job. That Christmas morning was the one that I still remember. It was the first time that I participated in giving...it matters.
More than fifty years later and what I hope for, is that the true spirit of the season prevails. Some of the traditions will be a bit different, but, the spirit of family, the laughter, the joy and the expectation of hope are the same. Time no longer slows for the holidays. My guess is that time will seem extremely short for these few days.
Let's celebrate and maybe pay forward some of the good wishes and hope. In doing that we might be able to extend the season.
Buon natale!

It didn't happen
So, there I was having my breakfast and the music is playing. First, I hear White Christmas. That is followed by...Wanted, Dead or Alive.
If you have ever studied trends and tendencies, what might you expect? Perhaps Oh, Holy Night with I Shot the Sheriff as the kicker...
So much for Great Expectations!

One year
It still hurts. So many things unsaid, undone or unfulfilled. The void remains. The pain, the sorrow and the sadness are all abating...just as everyone promised. The tears are no longer a daily event.
Tomorrow evening would have been the night of Grace's yearly Christmas party. The big event. Her pride. Her indomitable spirit once more at stage front. Oh, and her cooking! Not to be.
For the second time I will spend the holiday season in the place we both loved. Where there are only good memories. Warm, happy, laughing, joyous times and events. Hopefully, with more to come.
The future brings change that I so look forward to. Spot and I will be starting our grand trek. We will find out her opinion on life in a 36' RV! Obviously, the next Holiday season will fall very much in the "who knows" category. My postings will continue...from the road.
I hope that each of you enjoys the season with laughter, warmth, happiness and good health...all in excessive amounts!
Would appreciate updates from you (all) upon occasion...perhaps a blog in your future?
